Mary has more than 25 years of competing and coaching in sports. She began her running career in Cambridge winning the Cambridge half marathon three times. She competed in world class championships under coaches Harry Wilson (Steve Ovett’s coach) and Mel Batty (coach to London marathon winner Eamon Martin).
She went on to win the World Gold medal in double scull, national gold medals and Henley Veteran gold medals while rowing at Emmanuel College Cambridge. Her mental tenacity, use of cross training including Hot Yoga led her to win the Silver medal in Nancy World Olympic Duathlon 2012; National team championship gold medals in triathlon and Veteran cycling time trials; and in 2014 became Tri England Olympic distance Duathlon National Champion and Middle Distance Triathlon Champion in her age group.
She is a qualified personal trainer and level 3 UK athletics coach. Many of her novice runners are competing in road races, marathons and even Ultra distance running! She had the pleasure of coaching future Olympians when they first started their athletic careers in Cambridge University teams.
